There will be considerable interest in a 34.5ac residential farm with a derelict house at Simonstown and Mahonstown, Gaybrook near Mullingar. The sale of the farm is being guided at €10,000/ac.

The property is in two lots about 1.5m apart. The house and 25ac is at Simonstown on the Rochfortbridge road, while a 9ac parcel at Mahonstown will be sold separately.

Selling agent Dillon Murtagh describes the dwelling house as in need of complete refurbishment.

It is set adjacent to a traditional farmyard with a two-bay haybarn, with a lean-to bedded shed and some stone sheds.

The 25ac of land is all in grass and described as good grazing ground, in good heart with decent road frontage.

The 9.5ac parcel is all in one field and comes with very good road frontage. According to Mr Murtagh, it would make a great site for a dwelling. The farm will be sold at auction at the Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar at 3pm on Thursday, March 27.
