Meath mushroom farm chopped to ¤75,000 reserve

A Co Meath mushroom farm is among the 87 properties set to be auctioned off at hugely reduced prices at the next Allsop Space auction of distressed properties.

Receiver Liam Dowdall, from Smith & Williamson, has ordered the sale of the farm at Rathfeigh, Borrowaddy Road, Co Meath.

The property includes 16 mushroom tunnels, a single-storey detached office/reception building, cold room, preparation area and further agricultural land located behind the mushroom tunnels.

Although the farm is understood to have been valued at more than €200,000 within the past 12 months, it will go under the hammer with a reserve of just €75,000.

The 5.2ac property is located close to the village of Rathfeigh, 11km from Tara, 12km from Duleek and 20km from Drogheda.

The so-called distressed auction will take place at the Shelbourne Hotel, St Stephen's Green, Dublin, on Thursday, July 8.
