A number of substantial landholdings have come on to the market of late, among them an 80ac farm beside Carton Estate in Maynooth and an 83ac holding on elevated ground beside Kildare town.
Andrew Nolan of selling agents Goffs says the 80ac farm at Carton is nestled between the renowned stud farms of Ballymacoll and Owenstown.
The farm will be offered at €13,000/ac.
According to Mr Nolan, this property ticks all the boxes.
It is the best of limestone land, dry and free draining and laid out in seven divisions that are separated by stud rail fences.
Located between Maynooth, Dunboyne and Leixlip, it has extensive road frontage on to the Maynooth to Dunboyne road and the old Maynooth to Leixlip road.
It will be offered for sale at auction at Goffs on Wednesday, October 10, and may be sold in lots or the entire, with the lots comprising 38ac and 42ac respectively.
As we face the colder months there could well be strong interest in an 83ac wintering farm on Silot Hill on the outskirts of Kildare town.
The farm is for sale by private treaty and Andrew Nolan of Goffs is guiding the sale at between €10,000-€12,000/ac.
The property, located five minutes from The Curragh, comes with extensive accommodation for cattle in the shape of a six-span shed with lean-tos at either side.
The farm is laid out in two divisions, all in grass, and has been grazed by cattle and sheep recently.
There is good road frontage on to the Kildare to Kildangan road which could, subject to planning permission being secured, allow for development at a later date.
