Major spreads its slurry wings

Mayo engineering firm Major has developed a new range of agricultural slurry tankers, to be officially launched at the National Ploughing Championships.

The firm says the tankers have been designed and built to ensure the load is well balanced between the tractor and tanker in order to achieve the best possible traction with minimal soil damage.

In the new range there are eight models with capacities from 1,150-2,000ga, which offers the farmer more flexibility. There is an extensive choice of capacities and tyre options available, from standard to low ground pressure. Depending on the tyre option selected, the tankers are available with or without wheel arches.

All the tankers are heavy-duty, with steel supports welded across the inside of the tanker and a full-length chassis to give increased strength.

An automatic top trap eliminates contamination of the vacuum pump, the manufacturer points out. A detachable parking stand and PTO holder also comes as standard.

For increased operator comfort, rubber buffer drawbar suspension is also being offered as standard.

All models in the Major range are available in a galvanised or two-pack paint finish. The paint is baked on to the tank and then assessed to ensure a long-lasting protective coat. The axles used are heavy-duty agricultural axles.

To celebrate the launch of these new tankers, Major is running a 'guess the weight' competition on their stand (H110) at the National Ploughing Championships.
