Mayo firm Major Equipment International Ltd has added conventional mowers to its product line-up, with the launch of a new range of three-point linkage disc mowers.
There are three models in the range -- 6ft, 7ft and 8ft -- and two cutting widths available. The smaller machine has five discs, while the wider machine has six.
The 8ft model is available with either two blades or three blades for each disc.
Transmitting drive to the discs are heavy-duty V-belts, according to Major.
To protect the machine cutting bed in the event of a collision, there is an automatic release that allows the machine to swivel back 45°.
The firm maintains that the hard-wearing bed-and-blade system allows cutting in rugged ground, giving an excellent cut every time.
For transport, the mowers are folded hydraulically to the vertical position and an automatic safety lock secures them in place.
Prices start at €4,850 plus VAT.
