Macra meetings set to advise over CAP
Macra Na Feirme is to hold a series of information meetings for members on the CAP consultative process. The meetings are being organised in association with IFAC accountants.
Among the topics to be discussed are: Overview of CAP reform proposals for young farmers; analysis of options/ benefits by IFAC accountants; question and answer session on CAP young farmer proposals.
For the first time in CAP history there is a specific provision in Pillar I directed at young farmers by way of a 25pc top up on their single farm payment. A fully funded national reserve will also be available again to allow new entrants to establish a worthwhile entitlement for themselves.
"This fund has to be protected to allow it to work for the entire duration of the next CAP period," a Macra statement said.
The meetings take place at the following venues at 8pm:
