National slow down day was last Friday and Gardai were out in force to encourage motorists to slow down on Irish roads.

The driver of this tractor and trailer was stopped for having an unsecure load in Kildare recently.

New regulations with regards to weights of agricultural vehicles came into effect last year, and since 2013 you need a BE licence to pull a regular horsebox or trailer with a combined weight over 3,500kg.

A couple of months ago, Gardai in Kildare stopped a cattle lorry in Kildare due to manure from livestock on board leaking onto the road.

The driver was hit with a fixed penalty charge notice and penalty points for the offence, while Kildare Gardai also recently hit a tractor driver with fixed charge notice and penalty points when stopped with an incredibly insecure load.
