New Holland has launched two new ranges of its popular T5 tractors, which it says pack a bigger performance in a compact size with a new 4-cylinder engine.

Popular with livestock farmers in Ireland, New Holland has dubbed its new T5s “the ultimate all-rounder tractors” aimed at the utility multi-purpose tractor segment from 80hp to 120hp.

The new T5 Utility Stage V and T5 Electro Command Stage V feature a “new and improved” 4-cylinder engine with an increased displacement of 3.6 litres that delivers higher power and torque.

In addition, the company says the maximum torque is attained at lower rpm (1300 rpm), improving the engine’s performance.

The new tractors also meet the EU’s latest emission standards with a new fuel system integrating a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), a particulate filtration system and a selective catalyst reduction (SCR) in a single element.

All the after-treatment components are enclosed in a single, compact package under the hood, ensuring excellent visibility and manoeuvrability.

It says the new fuel system is “maintenance-free” and that it requires no replacement of components or mechanical cleaning during the whole lifecycle.

The company also says improved hydraulic and electrical systems provide easy access to all service points, including engine filters, on the same side of the tractor, resulting in better and faster serviceability.

T5 Utility

New Holland says its new T5 Utility will be equally at home doing loader work, operating front or rear implements, and transport applications.

The range delivers the greater increase in performance, with 5hp more and 10pc more torque, with maximum torque achieved at lower rpm. The cab’s ample glass surface and slim pillar frame ensure good visibility, while the wide roof hatch offers a clear view of the loader in its raised position.

The company says the T5 Utility is the ideal tractor for intensive loader job thanks to the Class 1.5 large axle that provides greater load-carrying capacity and the wider rear trumpet that enhances stability in loader operation.

It has an advanced joystick with dual command switch and 3rd, 4th and 5th front loader function and declutch function.

The T5 Utility tractors also have a rear lift capacity of up to 4,400kg, while the three-speed PTO features ECO and ground speed.

T5 Electro Command

The T5 Electro Command has also received a power increase on the models at the lower end of the range, as well as a 5pc torque increase on all models.

The resulting higher torque back-up delivers higher productivity and better driveability. Maximum torque is now reached at a lower 1,300rpm, improving load response and startability.

Fuel tank capacity has been increased to 174 litres, extending working hours without refuelling.

The three models in the range with 101hp, 110hp and 117hp feature semi-powershift electro-command transmission with 4 steps, 16 forward and 16 reverse gears, which offers clutchless gear changes with the optional ‘auto mode’ that enables an automatic gear shifting function.

The T5 Electro Command also has the Terraglide front axle suspension, which helps deliver a smooth ride on the roughest terrains. Along with the improved cab suspension, New Holland says it reduces vibrations.

Ideal for mixed and livestock dairy farmers, the T5 Electro Command is available with the wide frame 700TL series front loaders that provide higher stability, even when working with the heaviest loads at maximum extension.

The model also comes with a separate 80 lpm hydraulic pump, combined with the advanced electrohydraulic joystick on the armrest.
