Land with great road frontage is up for sale
An attractive 50ac parcel of non-residential land divided by a country road has come on the market at Rathroane near Enfield in Co Meath. Located on the Rathroane road, it is described by Edward Carey of Property Team Carey Auctioneers, as good strong land in need of some attention in terms of fencing and reseeding.
"With 20ac on one side of the road and 30ac on the other there is extensive road frontage," he said. "It also has a stream running through it providing a natural water supply."
The farm comes with a guide price of €6,500/ac which should attract a lot of potential customers. Mr Carey believes that there are still a lot of customers out there for land.
"People who could be described as having a long stocking, in that they didn't go mad on shares or investments during the tiger years, now have money to spend," he said.
Mr Carey believes most of the interest will come from local farmers when it goes for auction at Johnstown Castle Hotel, Enfield, at 3pm on June 16.
Mr Carey is also selling an 18.5ac parcel of land with a derelict house on the R402 at Johnstownbridge on the Edenderry Road.
For sale by private treaty, the holding is described as good land in a good location.
"The road is being realigned at the moment and when that work is completed there could be possibilities for the construction of a residence," he said.
