Sheep prices continued their upward climb this week as the prices paid by the factories reached a six-year high.

Increases of between 30c/kg and 40c/kg pushed base prices up to between 580c/kg and 600c/kg with agents admitting supplies were tight.

A strong trade was also reported from the sheep marts.
