Kildare lands go for over €10,300/ac
A parcel of land near Kildare town extending to 32ac with 240m of road frontage sold at auction last week for €330,000 making over €10,300/ac.
Situated just north of the town, the lands are adjacent to the development boundary of the Kildare Town Local Area Plan, 2012 to 2018. The holding is currently in tillage with the lands described by Phillip Byrne of selling agents REA Coonans as made up of prime quality ground laid out in one division.
The bidding for the holding opened at €300,000 and, with three bidders in the chase, the amount quickly rose to €320,000, at which point it was put on the market. Further bidding saw the price reach €330,000 before the hammer fell, knocking the property down to a local farmer.
