A Kildare holding extending to 85.5ac at Donadea near Maynooth is on the private treaty market with a guide price of €850,000 or around €10,000/ac.

The non-residential farm is located at Cooltrim adjacent to the lovely Donadea woods and close to Clane, Maynooth and Kilcock.

Will Coonan of selling agents REA Coonans, says the property has been farmed as an organic farm since 1999 with a rotation between cereal production, grazing and silage production.

It is good agricultural land that is free draining and productive.

While mainly farmed for tillage and grass, an 11ac parcel of the ground is in forestry comprising of Norway Spruce with premiums payable.

Coonans are also bringing 49.4ac of land at Laragh, Maynooth to auction with a guide price of €10,000/ac.

Located 4km from Maynooth, 3km from Kilcock and 30km from Dublin the ground is situated along the M4 motorway.

The holding is described by Philip Byrne as a prime grassland farm with tremendous road frontage extending to 250m.

"With the requisite planning permission it would make an ideal residential unit," he said.

The property will be offered for sale in two lots with the main lot comprising 40.3ac, while a smaller lot extends to 9ac. Mr Byrne expects strong local farmer interest but doesn't rule out significant outside interest.

The auction takes place at the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth at 3pm on Thursday, October 29.
