Keen interest in East Galway holdings

Serious interest is being reported by Tuam auctioneer, Martin Tyrrell, in three east Galway farms he has for sale by private treaty.

Mr Tyrell said offers for the farms were already nearing their reserve prices. The general asking price for east Galway land at the moment is in the region of €7,000/ac.

The farms on Mr Tyrrell's books include a 113ac grazing/tillage enterprise in one division at Rathglass, Ballinasloe selling. The guide price on this property is €7,000/ac.

Another 57ac mixed-grazing and tillage enterprise at Cinn Uisce, near Claregalway, has a reserve of €250,000. This holding comprises 24ac of good tillage quality land and a further 32ac of grazing ground.

The third property is a 40ac residential farm at Fohenagh near Ballinasloe. The farm has a modern three-bedroom bungalow and is on the market with a price tag of €300,000.
