Kedrah Castle in Co Tipperary is gearing up for the second leg of its riders' league for Eventing Ireland competitors on Sunday, June 16.

Kedrah Castle has teamed up with Kevin O'Leary Motor Group and the owners of the Irish Draught stallion Knockmorris to offer cash prizes totalling €800 for the top three riders in the league.

The league, which began at Kedrah's first event on May 5, allocates points to riders placed in the top five of all classes. The winner will be the rider who receives the most points over both days, May 5 and June 16.

There is no limit to the number of classes a rider can take part in. The winner will receive €500, with €200 going to second place and €100 to third.

Meanwhile, the Eventing Ireland Sportsman Committee has announced three new sponsors for its Sportsman leagues throughout 2013.

The Sportsman A league is to be sponsored by Dunboyne Castle Hotel, with the new sponsor for the Sportsman B league and Castle Leslie has taken up the role of sponsor for the Sportsman C league.

The leagues, which began in March, will continue throughout the summer until the season ends and are proving popular.

They are open to any amateur Eventing Ireland member aged over 25.
