Farmers and contractors in Ireland will have the opportunity to see the new CX range in detail at a number of dealer organised demo days.

The exact details of the demo days will be announced in the coming weeks, but they will be held at field sites in the areas of New Holland dealers, Cavanaghs of Fermoy, JR Perry of Athy and Armstrongs of Dublin.

The model on show will be a CX7090, which features GPS guidance, yield mapping, four-wheel-drive and a 25ft Varifeed header along with the new Opti-Speed straw walkers mentioned.

Darragh Mullin, product demonstrator for New Holland, said that while operating this combine in France recently, he managed to achieve a working speed of 7kph in a 8t/ha crop of wheat running at just 0.7pc losses using the New Holland Intellicruise system.

"That work rate was achieved while chopping the straw as well, so the engine was really working to the maximum.

"The machines coped very well and we are confident they will impress Irish contractors and farmers during the upcoming demonstrations," he said.
