High hopes for Danesfort with €15,000/acre guide

Earlier this year a property at Danesfort, Kilkenny, Pigeon Park House on 140ac achieved one of the highest prices of the year when it sold under the hammer for €2.57m, or more than €16,000/ac.

Auctioneer Ed Donohue is hoping to replicate and exceed that performance with the sale of a neighbouring parcel of land extending to 25ac.

Emboldened by the achievements of Pigeon Park, Mr Donohoe is guiding the public auction price at €15,000/ac.

Located at Rathclough, Danesfort, two miles from Kilkenny city, off the old Waterford road, the land has road frontage on to a cul-de-sac and on to the main road.

Mr Donohoe describes the land as high quality tillage ground suitable for any agricultural use.

The property will be offered for sale by public auction on Friday, at 3pm at the Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny.

Meanwhile, a week later, Mr Donohoe is bringing to auction a 24.5ac field located at Ballintrane, Fenagh, Co Carlow.

Situated on the Carlow to Wexford Road, eight miles from Carlow, and three miles from Ballon, the land is said to be suitable for tillage or grass and fronts on to a cul-de-sac.
