Hat-trick for Drimoleague duo

A Drimoleague dairy farming duo, netted a hat trick of awards in the showring at the livestock classes at Bantry Agricultural Show, writes Martin Ryan.

Michael and Darren Lynch's seven-year-old 'Woodtown Samantha 34' was judgedChampion Jersey of the Show and six-year-old 'Liselane Atlas Misty' was awarded the Champion of Show in the Friesian classes to which they added the rosette for the best dairy pair at the show.

The overall Supreme Champion was exhibited by the well-known Castlemartyr Angus Breeder, Albert de Cogan, Killamuckey, Castlemartyr.

Numerous award winner over recent years 'Gortnamona Pansy 8th' continued to add to the collection for Jimmy and Linda O'Donovan, Gortnamona, Schull, winning the award for Shorthorn Champion.

In the beef section breeders from West Cork and Limerick shared the honours. Clive Jennings, Boulteen, Enniskeane, Co Cork showed the Champion Hereford, while Tim O,Donovan, Dunmanway took the top honours for showing the Champion Limousin and Tony O'Leary, Ballincollig, Co Cork exhibited the champion in the Simmental classes.
