Graham makes Sligo dairy move
He has spent the past number of years analysing dairying, but now the IFA's liquid milk secretary has decided to put the theory into practice.
John Graham (34) has moved back home to Sligo to pursue a career in dairying after buying 40ac next to his father's farm.
It's yet another example of the lure of expansion in a post-quota Irish dairy sector, which can only be good for an industry that has traditionally struggled to attract young people.
Mr Graham plans to apply for quota under the New Entrants' Scheme and establish his own dairy herd.
The scheme granted 53 applicants an average of 200,000 litres each last year.
