After a quiet start, the auction season in Kildare is getting busy with a number of high-profile sales happening in the next few weeks. Jordan Auctioneers, Newbridge are bringing to the market 65.5ac of agricultural land at Inch, Athy, Co Kildare with a guide of €12,000/ac.

Located 5km from Athy, the property can be accessed via the old Kilcullen to Athy road (R418) or just off the link road (N89) to the M9 motorway at Junction 3.

The holding is all in one block, with extensive frontage onto a local road between Russelstown Cross and the Inch junction.

There are mature hedgerows and boundaries throughout and the ground is currently under stubble and has been in arable use for the last number of years.

According to Paddy Jordan the soil is of excellent quality, suitable for tillage or grazing with no waste and classified as 'Fontstown Series' in the soils map of County Kildare.

Mr Jordan is expecting the land to generate strong interest among tillage farmers given its location among some of the best tillage ground in the country.

"The property would make an ideal outfarm or, subject to the necessary planning permission, could be turned into a residential holding with the construction of a residence and yard," Mr Jordan said.

"Its accessible location close to Athy and the motorway means it will likely appeal to a wide range of potential purchasers," he added.
