In the Premier County, Pat Quirke of P F Quirke & Co Ltd sold a 21ac residential holding at Ballincor, Lisronagh, under the hammer. A local bidder paid €525,000 for the place.

The property is located close to Lisronagh village between Fethard and Clonmel.

The 19th century two-storey farmhouse with four bedrooms and two large reception rooms is in need of modernisation.

The property includes a range of outbuildings comprising garages, stores and a large concrete yard.

The main yard includes a six-span haybarn with a lean-to, cubicle shed, a three-span haybarn with silage walls and a second cubicle shed lean-to.

Other facilities include cattle handling facilities, holding pens, a slurry store, calf sheds and storage spaces.

Extending to 21.2ac the south-facing ground is in grass and sheltered by fine stands of trees. The place is divided into a number of divisions by mature hedges with a farm roadway servicing all the divisions.

About 25 people attended the auction, and an opening bid of €400,000 saw the sale get under way. Matters came to a halt momentarily at €435,000, and after consultation with the vendors Pat Quirke continued with the auction until the price reached €500,000.
