Elite training stable in Summerhill starts at €2.5m
Arodstown Stables in Moynalvy, Summerhill, Co Meath is the base from where leading National Hunt trainer, Tony Martin, has sent out numerous winners over the past decade. It has also just been placed on the market by Goffs Country with a guide price of €2.5m
The trainer, who was responsible for the trackside exploits of such notable horses as Bog Warrior, Benefficient, Dedigout, Northern Alliance, Ted Veale, Royal County Star and Ross Moff, is expanding his training facilities and moving to a bigger establishment nearby, according to Goff's Andrew Nolan, who is handling the sale.
The holding's role of honour includes three Cheltenham winners over the past two years, with the latest being Savello for Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown House operation in March. In total, Arodstown Stables has turned out nearly 350 winners over the past decade.
So it is no surprise that it is very much a state-of-the-art horse training establishment. Most of the facilities are less than seven years old, including the main house and staff accommodation.
Set on 80ac of some of the best land in Co Meath, Arodstown has three American-style barns laid out in units of 30, 24 and 16 boxes and two all weather gallops. One is a six furlong straight gallops, while the secodn is an 'equitrack' similar to what is used for all-weather racing at Dundalk.
Schooling facilities abound at Arodstown Stables and the property includes a large shed for shavings, various tack and feed rooms, an administration building and a large eight-bedroomed staff quarters.
The trainer's house at Arodstown was built just five years ago to a very high spec. It has underfloor heating throughout, a south facing conservatory, spacious living rooms, a first floor office and five spacious second floor bedrooms with bathroom facilities that include a jacuzzi.
"The bricks are in place and the winners are flowing. There will be few opportunities to purchase a horse training establishment boasting such facilitie," said Andrew Nolan.
