Drained and fenced 62ac farm up for sale
James Lee of REA John Lee Newport, in Co Tipperary, will be hoping the fine weather will bring out the buyers for a 62ac roadside farm between Murroe in Co Limerick and the north Tipp town of Newport. The sale is being guided at between €7,000 and €8,000/ac
Located at Murroe Wood on the outskirts of Murroe, the lands enjoy extensive road frontage on to the road to Newport. Described as good grazing ground, the land needs some tidying and light cleaning.
Laid out in five fields, it was drained and fenced a number of years ago by the current owner who now wishes to sell them on.
The farm will be sold at auction at 3pm tomorrow, July 24 at the REA John Lee offices.
Meanwhile, on Friday a 96ac farm at Monaghanstown, Castletown-Geoghegan, Co Westmeath, comes to market. It is described by auctioneer Jimmy Murtagh as a fine parcel of ground. While reluctant to quote a guide price, the general selling price for land in the area is between €7,000 and €9,000/ac.
Located one mile from Castletown-Geoghegan, seven miles from Kilbeggan, it is said to be a model farm that is well developed and well cared for. According to Mr Murtagh the lands, currently under grass, are of prime fattening quality suitable for dairy, beef or tillage.
Maintained to a high standard, the farm is well fenced with an internal roadway providing access to each of the 12 paddocks. The farmyard includes good cattle handling facilities along with a five-bay double haybarn and a lean-to.
The holding will be offered for sale in lots with the first lot comprising 48.5ac. Lot two is 48ac, while the third lot comprises the entire holding. The auction takes place at Annebrook House Hotel, Mullingar on July 26 at 3pm.
