Two-headed calf dies before chance of life-saving surgery
A calf born with two faces has died in Kentucky, despite the best efforts of a family that treated her like a pet.
The two-faced calf named Lucky was 108 days old when it died this week. The animal had four eyes, two noses and two mouths.
The McCubbin family farm Taylor County in Kentucky had raised $1200 from Go Fund Me - an online fund raising tool - and other donations to pay for a scan to see if the calf’s cleft palate could be repaired, which would have allowed her to eat hay.
“She was the best pet a farmer could have asked for.
“God blessed us with a miracle and we are forever thankful,” Brabdy McCubblin said.
According to McCubbin, the family has yet to decide an organization to donate the money to.
"We were one week away from getting her the help she needed, but there is always a need somewhere," she said
