Dairygold has announced that it is increasing its July milk price. It comes after Glanbia and Kerry also announced they were increasing their July base milk prices.

Cork-based Dairygold announced that it had decided to increase the price for milk supplied in July by 1c/L bringing price to 34.5c/L including 0.5c/L quality bonus and Vat.

It comes after Glanbia announced that it would pay 34c/L for July milk supplies, up 1c/L while Kerry also announced that it was increasing its July base milk price by 1.5c/L, bringing its July milk price to 34.5c/L, including VAT based on 3.6pc fat and 3.3pc protein.

It comes after prices slipped in the latest Global Dairy Trade auction by 0.4pc. The New Zealand-based Global Dairy Trade auction has seen prices slip at four of the last five auctions, but comes on the back of a three month rally.

It comes as New Zealand heads into spring and the weather over the coming months in New Zealand will have a big impact on prices, commentators have said.
