Dairygold and Kerry, two of the country's largest milk processors have set their December milk prices
Kerry has announced that it is holding its December milk price, at 29c/L (including VAT). A spokesman said supply volumes are low in December and that the co-op would hold its price for the month, after increasing it for a number of months.
Meanwhile, Dairygold has announced that it will pay 30.5c/L for December milk - a rise of 1.5c/L on its November milk price. A spokesperson for Dairygold said the price rise, which was determined by the board, included a 0.5c/L quality bonus.
Last week Glanbia announced that it will pay 30c/L (including VAT) for December milk, an increase of 1c/L on the November milk price.
This is based on milk at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein. It also announced that in llight of this decision, there will be no Glanbia Co-operative Society support payment to Members this month.
Glanbia Chairman Henry Corbally said that the strong recovery in Glanbia’s milk price in the past six months has resulted in a positive conclusion to a very challenging year for the dairy sector.
