Ninety-one acres of land for sale at Barrowmount, Goresbridge, Co Kilkenny, achieved celebrity status last week when it became subject of a High Court action involving ACC Bank, Corrs band member Jim Corr and Mr Corr's business associate, Liam Marks of Dundalk.

Ed Donohue, of Kilkenny auctioneering firm Donohue Real Estate, is handling the sale and is confident that, despite all the publicity surrounding the farm's disposal, the quality of the land will make for a good auction. The land is on the edge of Goresbridge village, 15 minutes from Kilkenny city, 20 minutes from Carlow and two miles from the new M7 motorway at Paulstown.

The land is laid out in one block, with extensive road frontage, and extends to the Barrow River.

There are also two acres of forestry with the property.

With road frontage on to the Graiguenamanagh road, six acres are zoned for development and come with full planning permission, while a further 14ac is within the village boundary and under the Kilkenny County Development Plan for future development.

Mr Donoghue said: "We are guiding it at €8,000 to €10,000/ac or €800,000 to €900,000 for the entire."

The auction will be at the Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny, at 3pm on Friday, November 3.
