Cork to host ICAR event

Ireland is hosting the biannual, four day, world conference of ICAR, the International Committee for Animal Recording, in the Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork from Monday June 28. 450 delegates from 50 countries will be attending.

The dairy industry day on the first day will feature international speakers on genomic technology and semen sexing.

ICBF vice-chairman Michael Doran said that the beef and sheep day on Tuesday, May 29, will give beef and sheep breeders a chance to compare what is happening in the rest of the world with the services available in Ireland.

Farmers wishing to attend these free events should text ICARD or ICARB to 089 457 7663 for the dairy or beef and sheep days, respectively.
