Cork 16ac to be sold in three lots at €400k guide

A 16ac residential holding in west Cork will be offered for sale in lots at public auction on March 5.

The farm at Ballyduvane, Clonakilty, just a mile and a half outside the town, has already attracted local interest.

Auctioneer John Hodnett, of Clonakilty selling agents Hodnett Forde Property Services, is quoting a guide price of between €350,000 and €400,000.

Mr Hodnett describes the property as a quality holding with a gently sloping, south-facing position. The lands are all in pasture.

The house included is a traditional farmhouse requiring modernisation. However, the agent says it's full of character and could easily be transformed into an attractive home. Accommodation includes a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, a landing and two bedrooms.

The adjoining outbuildings are said to be in a ruinous condition and also require renovation.

The property will be offered in the following lots: lot one, the residence and outbuildings on one acre; lot two, 15ac of agricultural land; lot three, the entire property.

Mr Hodnett recently entered into a business partnership with auctioneer Ernest Forde.
