Connacht Agri sees surge in demand for drainage pipe
Connacht Agri's Seamus Hession says that his biggest problem at the moment is keeping enough of his new drainage pipe in stock to cope with demand.
"Seven years ago we sold 100,000m of this pipe. We'll easily sell a million metres this year," said Mr Hession.
He claims that the geotextile pipe is stronger than conventional pipe and that the porous sleeve does not block. "This allows users to save 35pc on the cost per metre because they don't need stone, a tractor with stone hopper and an extra driver. It also means that you can do the job in almost any weather," he said.
