Bungalow on 30ac at Streamstown is ideal family farm

Jim OBrien

A 30ac residential holding that comes with a relatively new bungalow, an old stone cottage and a farmyard located at Cloghanaskaw, Streamstown, Co Westmeath is on the market to be sold by private treaty.

According to Sean Coloe of selling agents Sherry FitzGerald Davitt and Davitt, Mullingar, the entire is being guided at €375,000 -- with the house valued at €150,000 and the land at about €7,500/ac.

The property is situated beside the village of Streamstown, about 19km from Mullingar, 15km from Moate and 4km from Horseleap.

The local primary school and other community facilities are only 300m from the holding which makes it ideal as a prospective family farm.

The land is described as being of good quality, 20ac of which was reseeded recently.

It is laid out in five neat divisions with mature trees and electric fencing throughout.

Water is supplied by a private well and the land also has a natural spring.

The large bungalow, built five years ago, has five bedrooms, two of which are ensuite. There are two further bathrooms, a kitchen/dining area, a TV room, sunroom and sitting room. The farmyard is home to an old three-bedroom cottage that could be refurbished. There are also a number of stone outbuildings and a two-bay haybarn.

According to Mr Coloe, while it is the preference of the vendors to sell the property as an entire, the holding can be sold in various lots depending on the needs of customers.
