Big vote for Kerry Co-op

A big turnout is expected in the Brandon Hotel, Tralee, today for a second crucial vote by shareholders of Kerry Co-op.

The ballot, if supported by more than 75pc of the Co-op's 4,400 A-grade shareholders, would allow the Co-op's shareholding in the Kerry Group plc to drop below the existing 20pc threshold and would set a new threshold of 10pc plus one share.

Close to 80pc voted for the proposal in the first ballot but the vote could be closer today.
