Will reduction in quality push prices south as numbers fall?

This year has been different for the sector in so many ways, and hopes are high that trade will remain strong

While factory kill figures continue to defy expectations, with last week’s likely to be over 37,000, numbers at the marts are performing as anticipated, ie, reducing.

That said, there was a large influx of cull cows last week, with very wet conditions making up many dairy farmers’ minds, possibly a little ahead of time, to lighten their workload and make room at housing.
