Planning is the key to a successful dosing schedule when cattle are turned out to grass. The first step is to separate the herd into two groups - calves and older stock past their first year of grazing. By making a plan you can be much more strategic about the amount of money and time you invest in dosing.

The three main parasites for these two groups are gutworms, lungworm and fluke. Mites and lice are less of an issue in the summer months due to factors such as sunlight, less hair cover, and increased temperatures. April 1 is the turnout date for the points raised in this article.
