Autotrac widens reach
John Deere says its multi-brand satellite guidance system is now available as a more fully integrated solution for older John Deere tractor models along with other makes of tractor. The firm's new Autotrac controller was first featured at last year's Cereals.
According to Deere, the technology helps reduce operator fatigue, improves productivity with reduced overlaps and misses, and reduces wear and tear on equipment. Deere states that typical fuel savings of 10-15pc can be made using such a system.
Autotrac provides fast-line acquisition, according to Deere, and can be used at all accuracy levels. These include the free StarFire 1 signal (30cm), StarFire 2 (10cm) and StarFire RTK (2cm). It operates with John Deere's AMS GreenStar displays plus the StarFire iTC and 3000 satellite receivers. John Deere says it is also compatible with its automatic implement guidance and documentation systems.
AutoTrac Controller needs to be fitted by a John Deere dealer, which it says may take one or two days, depending on the level of modification required. It can be fitted to selected John Deere 6000/6010 and 7000/7010 series tractors plus Fendt Varios, Case IH Steigers and Case IH MX Magnum models.
