Auction yields €295/ac for conacre in Kilkenny in Kilkenny

In his first land letting auction of the year Joseph Coogan of Castlecomer recently auctioned 40ac of grazing and meadowing.

The parcel made €295/ac under the hammer. Located at Flagmount, North Clifden, Co Kilkenny the property is 9.5km from Kilkenny city and 14km from Bagenalstown, Co Carlow.

The land, which has no entitlements, was let in conacre from March 18 to November 1, 2015. It is described as good grazing ground with potential for hay and silage.

In the same general area Dawson auctioneers are selling two pieces of ground by auction.

Both parcels are art of an executor sale and are located about one mile apart at Newtown, Nurney in Co Carlow. REA Dawson auctioneers, Tullow are guiding the sale at €10,000/ac.

The first parcel comprises 27ac at Augha, Newtown, about two miles from the village of Fenagh. The lands are described as good dual-purpose ground with good road frontage.

The second parcel extends to 37ac and is located off the Newtown/Fenagh road. Also described as the best of dual-purpose ground this parcel has no road frontage and is accessed by a lane.

Both properties will be offered for sale by auction at The Lord Bagenal, Bagenalstown, Co Carlow at 3pm on Thursday, February 26.
