Agri-Science degree now open in Tralee
Three separate third level institutions have announced details of new agricultural courses in the last week.
The Institute of Technology, Tralee, has a new Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science starting in September.
The three-year degree course has been launched in time for the CAO change-of-mind deadline on July 1.
It is expected that students will be able to apply for direct entry into level 8 Agricultural Science programmes.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of the news that FETAC level 5 courses in agriculture will be offered by Colaiste an Atha in Kilmuckridge in Wexford, and Westport College of Further Education.
There will be 44 places available between the two colleges, with specialist dairying, beef and sheep modules also available.
