Farmer calls for investigation after cattle 'mowed down by car' in field

A farmer in Kilkenny out inspecting his lands recently found a scene where a number of his cattle appeared to have been hit by a car.

Gardai in the area are now investigating the incident in which a number of cattle are understood to have died after they appeared to be hit by a car driven deliberately through a field.

It is understood the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, July 14 in the townland of Cannafahy near Callan.

Gardai have confirmed tyre tracks were found at the scene and an electric fence has been disturbed.

Gardaí in Callan are investigating the matter and are appealing for information.
