Advice is on offer at IGA events through summer

The Irish Grassland Association is to host a series of reseeding events starting this month and continuing during May, June and August.

Sponsored by Germinal Seeds and Goldcrop, these events will focus on topics such as the best time to reseed, why reseeding is necessary and the benefits of reseeding swards.


A number of expert speakers will also talk on the importance of soil tests, options for reseeding, post-emergence spraying and post-reseeding grazing management.

Teagasc advisers and grassland researchers will be in attendance at each event to provide information on all aspects of reseeding, while a reseeding demonstration and information from both Germinal Seeds and Goldcrop will also feature at the events.

The first reseeding event takes place on the farm of Pat and Olive Weeks, Ballyagogue, Kilfinane, Co Limerick, on Thursday, April 28, at 11am.

The second event will take place on the farm of Henry Walsh, Moneynore East, Oranmore, Co Galway, on Wednesday, May 4, at 11am.
