A guide of €7,000-8,000/ac is being quoted for a 68ac non-residential farm in south Wexford.

The lands at Inish, Ballyteigue, Kilmore Quay, Wexford, are described as good free-draining ground by Barry Kehoe, of selling agents Kehoe Auctioneers, Wexford.

Located three miles from both Kilmore Quay and Bridgetown, the farm includes grassland and tillage, with 25ac in grass and the rest in stubble.

Mr Kehoe said that up to two years ago the farm was let to a Dublin vegetable growing family, who used it for horticulture.

It was fully drained and fenced about 20 years ago and the 25ac in grass was recently reseeded.

A firm roadway also provides excellent access to each of the farm's four divisions.

Mr Kehoe describes the ground as "dry as a bone".

"It is completely frost-free, being only three miles from the sea and ideal for any type of farming, whether grass, cereals or horticulture," he added.

While there are no entitlements with the land, if bought by mid May, the new owner would be in a position to include it as part of the calculations for this year's single farm payment.

The land goes to auction on Thursday, May 3, at 3pm, in Kehoe Auctioneers auction rooms, Commercial Quay, Wexford.
