A 39ac holding adjacent to the famous Heritage Golf Resort at Killenard, Co Laois is coming to auction with a guide price of €10,000/ac.
The land is being offering in two lots and is described by auctioneer Paddy Jordan as all top quality ground that is currently under a crop of winter corn – which is excluded from the sale.
"The lands are all classified under the Fontstown Series in the Soils of Co Laois and among some of the best tillage/grazing lands in the county," said Mr Jordan.
Situated 4km from the M7 motorway, 7km from Portlaoise and 3km from Portarlington, the holding, which adjoins Carrig Lea housing development, are zoned for enterprise and employment but will be sold at agricultural prices.
For the purposes of the auction, the lands will be sold in two lots of 13ac and 26ac. The larger of the two is zoned for enterprise and employment.
Mr Jordan believes the property will suit existing farmers wishing to expand, or could make a nice residential holding for the hobby farmer, given the required planning permission.
The auction will take place at 3pm on Friday, June 21 at the Keadeen Hotel, Newbridge, Co Kildare.
