The catalogue for the most recent Allsop sale held in Dublin featured quite a number of lots described as 'land and sites'.

However, the majority of these parcels were either sold before auction or withdrawn from auction.

Among the lands to sell under the hammer was a 26.35ac piece of ground on the outskirts of Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, which sold for €180,000 or more than €6,800/ac.

Laid out in eight divisions, with road frontage onto two roads, the ground is all in grass.

Under the current Westmeath county development plan the property in question is zoned for residential, sporting/recreational and enterprise and employment.

A parcel of ground extending to approximately 24ac in the village of Ballycarra located 10km from Castlebar, Co Mayo sold at the Allsop auction for €117,500 or almost €4,900/ac.

The holding is all in grass in eight divisions and located to the north east of the village, adjacent to the Manulla River and accessed via a laneway.

At the same auction a parcel of land extending to approximately 10.4ac at Graiguenamanagh, Co Kilkenny sold for €70,000 or less than €7,000/ac.
