Managing Director, Threatscape
Prior to establishing Threatscape, Dermot founded and led Systemhouse Technology, a pioneer in understanding the emerging threat of computer viruses. In 1989, it identified a relatively unknown start-up in California that had a solution to this threat, for which Systemhouse gained the exclusive Irish rights. That company was called McAfee. Over two decades Systemhouse grew to become one of Ireland’s most successful providers of IT security solutions. In 2004 Dermot sold Systemhouse, but reacquired it in 2010 when Threatscape bought its assets.
Dermot is a frequent speaker on technology topics on TV, radio and at conferences, particularly those related to information security and digital privacy. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from University College Dublin.
