Tudor-style home one of six lots snapped up at property auction
A modern warehouse in Donabate in North County Dublin was among the six lots which sold at a recent REA Dempsey Sothern auction in Naas, Co Kildare.
Located at Unit 17, Turvey Business Centre, the end of terrace premises comprises 220 sq m over two floors with the ground floor including warehouse extending to 115 sq m (1,238 sq ft) and the first floor office at 50 sq m (538 sq ft). It sold for its €185,000 AMV.
Top price at the auction was achieved by a residential investment property known as Ballycrystal, Geashill, Co Offaly, which sold for its €220,000 AMV. It sold with resident tenants.
A detached four-bedroom house, it sits on one acre and the floor area of the house itself extends to 170 sq m (1,830 sq ft).
With a Tudor style exterior, the two-storey has two reception rooms and a ground level bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs, one of three bedrooms is en suite, and there's a study and bathroom on this level also.
A site once earmarked for an office development, near the centre of Carlow Town, sold for its €100,000 AMV. Located at Leinster Crescent, the triangular corner site extends to 0.06 hectares or 0.148 acres.
It is zoned Town Centre Activity and auctioneer Harry Sothern says: "Though previous planning for three office blocks has now expired, a similar application is likely to meet favourable approval with Carlow County Council. Alternatively, the site could be used for building a one-off house, a medical surgery or offices."
