Tech facilities the future, says SCSI
THE new president of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) Micheal O'Connor believes the Irish construction industry can become a global player in high-tech facility construction and design.
"Ireland has a very good track record in delivering projects for some of the world's most demanding pharmaceutical, technology and semi-conductor clients, on time and on budget.
"The country now needs to leverage this unique skill set to attract further inward investment and promote our abilities internationally," he said in his speech at the society's AGM.
A chartered quantity surveyor, he is currently senior commercial manager with Jacobs Engineering and has held various positions in the society including secretary of the Southern Region and chair of the Quantity Surveying Professional Group.
