A development property in Shankill, Dublin 18, has been sold for €950,000, €50,000 over the guide quoted by agent Robert Colleran.

Known as Shanganagh Cottage, it stands on a 0.64-acre site and has over 100 metres of road frontage on to the Dublin Road. It comes with an old two-bedroom cottage which together with its outbuildings extend to 940 sqft.

Mr Colleran indicated that while it does not have planning permission it has potential to accommodate at least eight to 10 houses, or more depending on the planning permission.

Located close to the Barbecue retail centre, to the rear of the site is Shanganagh Castle where the Government’s Land Development Agency is developing hundreds of homes.
