Sean Mulryan's Ballymore voted 'Residential Company of the Year' at 2017 Estates Gazette awards
Developer Sean Mulryan's Ballymore Group has picked up yet another award for its work in London.
Last Thursday night, the company edged out the competition to secure the title of 'Residential Company of the Year' at the prestigious EG awards. The event, organised by the UK's property industry bible, Estates Gazette, took place at London's Grosvenor House Hotel, on Park Lane.
An independent panel of judges comprising some of the most prominent figures in the UK property industry selected Ballymore from a shortlist of major contenders comprising of the Berkeley Group, Grainger, Places for People and Urban Splash. This year, the judges considered over 80 entries, across 17 categories, including agency, development, legal, building design, collaboration and technology.
Commenting on their choice of Ballymore as 'Residential Company of the Year', the judges said: "Ballymore have been unbelievable this year in what they've achieved."
Here at home, Ballymore founder and chief Sean Mulryan, was recognised at last year's KPMG Irish Independent Property Excellence Awards, securing both the title of Property Entrepeneur of the Year and Overall Winner.
This year, Ballymore celebrated its 35th year in business. Arriving at that landmark is no mean feat considering the proverbial mountain the company had to climb to repay the €3.2bn gross debt it owed Nama following the transfer of its loans in the wake of the crash. The achievement saw Mulryan secure 31st place on the inaugural 'Property Week Power 100' - a list of the 100 most influential individuals within the UK property industry.
