Rejuvenated estate offers final few houses

Winner of 2012 Tidy Towns best improved housing estate, Abbey Court puts its final eight houses on view this weekend. There are 25 three and four bedroom homes and four of each type remain.

The three bed is 1,150 sq ft and the four bedroom 1,400 sq ft. Each comes with wooden floors in the hall, a kitchen/dining area complete with appliances and a wheelchair accessible WC on the ground floor. There is a sitting room with a bay window and solid fuel stove to back up the oil fired central heating. The four-bed design has a second reception room.

Unusually, some of the bedrooms come with carpets and window blinds fitted - two in the three-bedroom and three of them in the four-bed along with the stairs and landing. All the homes are finished in off-white woodwork and are BER B rated.

Abbey Court is adjacent to the M7 at the Abbeyleix Road entrance. Portlaoise town centre is 1.2km while the train station is a further 400m, giving access to Dublin, Cork and Limerick. Key employers in the area include the Dept. of Agriculture and the Midlands Regional Hospital.

Viewing is from 12 - 3pm on Saturday.
