Refurbished Kiltimagh hotel seeking offers over €250,000
The Cill Aodain Hotel on Main Street, Kiltimagh, Co Mayo, has come to the market this week. David Diffley of Property Partners Earley says that he already has an offer of €250,000 for the property, which is in good condition, and he is open to offers.
Its 1,282sqm (13,800 sq ft) of accommodation includes 17 spacious en suite double bedrooms which are tastefully decorated to modern standards as well as the Court Bar and Bistro and The Gallery Restaurant.
Its ground floor also accommodates a reception area, an extensive modern fully equipped commercial kitchen, cold rooms, drinks stores, offices, toilets, servicing facilities and a sun terrace/dining area.
A yard to the rear incorporates stores etc.
The bedrooms, some of which are family rooms, are located over the two upper floors.
Although it has been closed since last December, it is in good condition as it was refurbished as recently as 2007. It is being sold by John Halligan.
"No expense has been spared on the finish which includes hardwood timber floors throughout bar and dining areas, granite counter tops and feature bar backdrops, quality lighting and audio visual equipment, plush seating and ultra modern catering equipment," Mr Diffley adds.
Kiltimagh is located about six miles north of Knock Shrine, 11 miles from Knock Airport and 14 miles from the county capital, Castlebar. It has produced some famous sons, including the pop band manager Louis Walsh.
Property Partners Earley reports having sold 14 licensed premises in the west and midlands in the last 12 months all of which are either continuing to trade or are about to re-open. These include Paddy Finn's in Kiltevan, Co Roscommon, which sold for €247,000; Daltons in Fuerty, which sold for €220,000, and The Old Shebeen bar and nightclub in Moate, Co Westmeath, which sold for €200,000.
