The deadline for entries to this year's KPMG Irish Independent Property Industry Excellence Awards has been extended to October 11.

Now into their third year, the awards have recognised the achievements of noted property professionals such as Ballymore's Sean Mulryan, IPUT and Cosgrave Developments, to name but a few.

Since being established, the event has secured the support and endorsement of the entire property sector, thanks to the integrity of the judging process and commercial structure.

There are two new awards this year, for 'Energy Efficient Project of the Year' and 'Outstanding Contribution to the Property Sector'.

Entries for the overall awards must be submitted to www.propertyexcellenceawards.com.

With just two weeks to go to the new deadline for entries, 50 submissions have been received across the 11 award categories.

Apart from the recognition the awards provide to the best of Ireland's property industry, all proceeds from the event help to fund the property doctorate research programme at the DIT.

The doctorate, which has a value of €90,000, is further supported by patrons Hibernia Reit, the Cosgrave Group, Irish Life Investment Managers and Linesight.

The winners of this year's awards will be announced on November 23 at a gathering of more than 700 property professionals in the Convention Centre, Dublin.
