THE wait is finally over for those shortlisted for the KPMG Irish Independent Property Excellence Awards 2017.

The Convention Centre Dublin will be abuzz with anticipation tonight as the event's MC, Paul McNeive, announces the winners before more than 800 property professionals who are due to attend a gala dinner to mark the achievements of Ireland's property industry.

While recognition will be given to the country's finest commercial and residential developments, the award for outstanding contribution to the Irish property sector will arguably be the most eagerly awaited and contested. The shortlist includes four of the country's most accomplished veterans - estate agent Ken MacDonald of Hooke & MacDonald, former Savills chairman Aidan O'Hogan, Green Property chairman Stephen Vernon, and former managing director at Sisk and the one-time chairman of Treasury Holdings, Kevin J Kelly. All four will be vying with each other and with developers the Cosgrave Group and IPUT for the award.
